Celestine is a celebrated Mediterranean restaurant and event space on the Dumbo waterfront. We offer thoughtful and elegant food with warm, unpretentious hospitality under the direction of Chef Angelica Ampil (Upland, Il Buco) and Director of Operations Lauren Broder. We are looking for a motivated, experienced General Manager to lead our front of house team to make Celestine the best it can possibly be. Our GM will be involved in all aspects of the business. Strong organizational skills are a must for the administrative and operational side of the role, as are solid people skills for FOH team management, maintaining staff morale, and service itself. We have well-established systems in place, but creative thinking is necessary to continually improve our work environment and the guest experience. Our service is warm and unpretentious, and we work hard to create an equitable, supportive environment for our team. We are a cohesive, supportive team. Many of our staff have been with us for nearly 10 years. We need a compassionate, dedicated leader who will lead by example. This position is available starting 5/1/25. Responsibilities: Work with ownership, our Director of Operations and our Exec Chef to improve and maintain systems and protocols. Oversee front house service, ensuring that standards are maintained alongside staff satisfaction through empowerment and motivation Lead day-to-day operations including leading pre-shift line-ups, scheduling, sales reporting, COGS and labor costs, payroll, DOH readiness, etc… Work with the Head Chef to improve staff knowledge of menu and wine list; identifying sticking points in service and the menu and providing solutions. Work with Events Coordinator to manage large group bookings and semi-private events, as well as the execution of full restaurant buy-outs and off-site events. Creatively contribute to marketing, expansion and daily operations of business Qualifications: 2 years minimum experience in NYC restaurant management A deep knowledge and love of food, wine, and service Resy, Toast and Craftable experience a plus Compensation package includes a base salary, potential profit share/bonus after 90 days of employment, health care subsidy and vacation.
